Conflicts of Interest in Scientific Publication

Scholarships for CSE Retreat

The Council of Science Editors has received funding from the Greenwall Foundation, the American Heart Association, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology to offer five scholarships to the retreat Conflicts of Interest in Scientific Publication. Each funded scholar will receive free registration to the conference (including hotel stay and all meals) and partial reimbursement for travel expenses.

The scholarships are intended for editors who contribute to editorial content at journals in the sciences, medicine, or health care. Applications from others who work in the field of scientific publications will also be considered. The reviewers will give priority to financial need and to applicants from developing countries. Decisions will be based on review of a 300-word essay, in which applicants should discuss their interest in the issue of conflict of interest, how they plan to apply the information they learn during the retreat, and any financial need.

Applications must be received by July 31, 2004. You may complete the application form online, or print a copy of the application form and mail it to:
