This month’s top news comes from Ken Heideman, chair of the Science Editor Task Force:
The Task Force is delighted to announce that Patty Baskin, Executive Editor of Neurology and former CSE Program and Short-Course Committee Chair, has accepted the position of chief editor of Science Editor. Patty brings her wealth of professional editorial and CSE leadership experience to the job of re-launching and reinvigorating the CSE flagship journal. Please congratulate Patty and welcome her to this critically important position. In the coming weeks she will be reaching out to fill out her editorial team. Our collective support will go a long way to ensuring continued success of Science Editor.

Here's what's happening:
Jheri Dupart was trained as a bench scientist, but her passion for writing convinced her to trade her pipettes for pens. Now a freelance biomedical writer and editor, she helps scientists in the United States and abroad to clearly communicate their ideas in manuscripts and grant proposals. Jheri joined CSE in 2011 hoping to network with other editors, especially in her hometown of New Orleans, LA, and CSE has provided the resources to make that possible. CSE has also been a very useful tool for learning about sound publication practices and ethics. Jheri looks forward to continued opportunities within CSE for connection building, information exchange, and training.
