FORCE11 Scholarly Communication Institute in Partnership with the UCLA Library (FSCI 2022)

July 25 - July 29

Do you have research experience or skills in scholarly communication, open research, or expanding research dissemination? Do you wish to broaden those skills and experiences? Join our volunteer community of instructors and learners at the immersive, community-led FORCE11 Scholarly Communications Institute (FSCI), presented by the FORCE11 community in collaboration with the UCLA Library.

The theme this year is Collaboration for Action: Sharing Knowledge Across Boundaries. The theme bridges two primary goals of FSCI – 1) bringing communities together to collaborate on scholarly communication issues in research, dissemination and publishing, and 2) actively tackling challenges that cross geographical, linguistic, disciplinary, and strategic boundaries. Courses for FSCI2022 were selected with that theme in mind, although you will find other topics are included in the curriculum. We strive to select courses that leverage the online learning environment to engage our global community of researchers and professionals in scholarly communication and open research practices.

Courses will be conducted during the week of July 25th–29th. Unlike previous years, in 2022 the calendar is compressed into one week. Each course will meet three times via Zoom on July 26th, 27th, and 28th. Check the Course List with Abstracts to see more detail, including the exact times for each course session. Courses will also have collaborative, asynchronous work throughout the week.

Also, remember that FSCI is more than just great courses – it’s a unique community of like-minded academic professionals from around the globe. Be sure to Join our curated Plenary Events, and meet your colleagues more informally through our Community Events.
