Dear CSE Colleagues,
Happy Spring! Here on the Atlantic seaboard, we’ve faced a series of storms for the past month, so spring still seems to be a long way off. But there are hopeful signs in the early daffodils and the just-barely-greening of the trees. Spring also means we’re just 5 short weeks away from the CSE Annual Meeting! I hope that you’re making your plans to attend in person. I’ve just returned from a trip to New Orleans and I can confirm that the city is as amazing as you might imagine. With the added benefit of our meeting syncing up with the end of Jazz Fest plus the stellar program we’ve constructed, you won’t want to miss this meeting.
If you’re looking for ways to meet up with your CSE friends in advance of New Orleans, I hope you’ll consider taking part in our virtual book club. Our current read is Cork Dork: A Wine-Fueled Adventure Among the Obsessive Sommeliers, Big Bottle Hunters, and Rogue Scientists Who Taught Me to Live for Taste by Bianca Bosker. Online discussion through GoodReads started on March 26. I’m excited to join in this discussion.
Finally, I’ll remind you that Members are the heartbeat of our organization-all of our activities, programs, and resources are created for your benefit. If you haven’t renewed your Membership for 2018, time is running out on your grace period. And if you have a colleague who would benefit from CSE, we have extended our popular Members Recruiting Members campaign. I hope you can take advantage of this unique opportunity.
Can’t wait to see each of you in the Big Easy!
