Communicating science effectively is challenging but indisputably important. Copyediting is the behind-the-scenes process in publication that ensures accurate and successful communication between authors and readers. But there is more to this process than just crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s: copy editors themselves must use effective communication with authors; science is made and published by international researchers; publishers are faced with the decision of hiring an in-house copy editor or outsourcing the copyediting process. How should I ask? What should be changed? Who do we hire? Join us! This webinar session may help you answer some questions.

  • Provide some general principles of author querying.
  • Advice on editing the works of nonnative-English speakers.
  • Recommend tips on how to make the most of vendor relationships: journals and copy editors.
